how sweet it is

I know, I know, it's been awhile. . . .

Our move about killed us, but we are recovering. We finished up and then ran away from the boxes and up to Hume for a week. So hard to walk away from the madness, but so glad we did. Much need pace change and great family time. Back now. Our new home is a funky rental in Shell Beach. We plan to be here for a year or two and then move to a little piece of property that we are in the process of purchasing in east A.G.. More on that later . . .

Anyway, Shell Beach is awesome...less than a block to the water. Feels like we're on vacation. Though we're still digging out, we're trying to enjoy it NOW. We had dinner on the beach tonight.

Here's a few pics...

stairs and beautiful eyes

There is something about the sea. . . its immensity . . . its unpredictability. . . it alters my perspective. It points me to my and its Maker. I need it.

Great pictures! Praying for you and you pray for us as we figure out our future digs and Dan's job situation. I'm glad you have a place to be able to enjoy such beauty up close and personal.

Clearly, I've been gone for a while. Seems to me that you're moving farther and farther from SLO. :-( What's the deal?

Thanks Brian W.. FYI, the place where we are and the place where we hope to be are both 12 minutes from the church, not far in our minds.

When the Lord called me to Grace, I was committed to living in SLO initially. After 5 years, I see Grace as a regional church ministering to the Central Coast, not just SLO city proper. This is as it should be. Us moving a bit outside of the city, I think reinforces this thinking for others.

At this point, with the approval of the elders, we feel the freedom to pursue a living situation that we believe is in the best interests of our growing family. I know that not everyone will agree with this and some may have strong convictions that we should live in the city. I get that, but just think a bit differently. I hope others will offer us grace in this matter of preference . . .

East AG is about the best place I know. I used to think I would never consent to live on the central coast without a SLO zip code, but have been very blessed to open my mind and my heart to live here.

I feel that it does minister to the church to have you in South county and Steve in Los Osos. We all know that we can gather together Sunday morning at our beautiful, historic, centrally located Grace Church, then take that refueling to a broader span in the North County, Morro Bay, Los Osos, South COunty, Santa Maria, and of course, San Luis itself.

Happy unpacking. Yuck.
