last weekend, this weekend

The following is a must-read email sent out this afternoon. I hope you got it. If not, contact the church office and confirm your email. . .

Beloved Family of Grace,

Wow! Did you get a chance to experience some of all that happened at and through Grace this last weekend? Here's a partial recap . . .

1. Grace Women's Conference: I've heard reports about great teaching and sweet fellowship.
2. Building on the Legacy Celebration Sunday: A time to remember God at Work here at Grace over the last year. If you missed it listen HERE
3. Founder's Hall/Early Childhood Center Walk-Through: A chance to see your giving at work in what will be a terrific means to ministry!
4. Moving Day/Demo Day: It all happened after services on Sunday. . . working and serving together.
5. Calli Kalman Benefit: Mo's and the Fremont were hoppin' . . . .the church had left the building.

Our staff meeting on Tuesday was nothing short of ELECTRIC as we celebrated God at work in all these happenings and in many other ways. All glory and praise belongs to our Great God who owns it all, rules it all, and gives it all.

I'm writing to spur you on to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24-25) and encourage you to not grow weary in well-doing (Galatians 6:9) because this upcoming weekend is going to be another BIG one. We can't keep this pace up forever, but let's go hard for the Lord for one more exciting weekend. Here's what's ahead:

Friday Evening, May 2nd, Serve Day Rally: A time to fellowship and get our heads and hearts in the game for Serve Day on Saturday. Not signed up? Come Friday and we’ll find a place for you to serve! 7:00-8:00PM in the Ministry Center (No childcare provided, kids welcome!)

Saturday, May 3rd, Serve Day: The team tells me we’re full with over 285 signed up for our 25 projects. Come rested, ready to work, and smiling as we joyfully LIVE THE GOSPEL here on the Central Coast. Look for a call or email from your Project Leader this week for instructions on your Project. Don’t forget the Serve Day Celebration BBQ Saturday at 3:30pm @ Mitchell Park. Come celebrate with everyone who served and hear stories of God @ Work while enjoying BBQ!

Sunday, May 4th, Transition Sunday (Another One!): We have officially transitioned to PHASE II of the Founder's Hall/Early Childhood Center Renewal Project. That building has now been officially closed for ministry use until September which means we are reshuffling the placement of our ministries one more time. Beginning this Sunday, all Adult Bible Fellowships will be meeting together @ 9:30 in the Ministry Center studying “Gospel Christianity” taught by Pastor Steve and our ABF teachers. The 4th-6th graders will begin their Sunday School class in the Lower Fireside room. Kindergarteners will find their new class upstairs in room 213 after they pass the 4 & 5 year olds in room 210. Finally, all the 1st-3rd graders will meet in the large room known as 212. If you start to feel lost, just ask Dori or one of the teachers!

Sunday Evening, May 4th, 2008 Mexico Missions Dinner: Let's end the busy weekend strong by supporting our Student Ministries and their desire to serve the needy beyond our borders. The cost is $5 per person, $3 for kids under 5 or $25 max for the family. Call the church office to RSVP or reply to this email RIGHT NOW and let us know you’re coming.

Our family will be here serving with you for all but the Mexico Dinner as I have been asked to lead a Memorial Service on Monday morning for an extended family member of one our dear Grace families down in the Los Angeles area. It’s a sensitive situation and I ask for your prayers. Use Ephesians 6:19 as your guide.

We'll see you this weekend. . . because of and for the Gospel,
