Eager Shepherds of the Flock

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you. --Hebrews 13:17

It's kind of turned into photo week here at Life Together. . . so here's a picture from our Elder/Pastor Retreat last weekend. We really had a good time of prayer, study and fellowship together. Wayne Peterson and Ken Peet were both missing, but are represented by the bald, round, white guy there in the middle.

Hebrews 13:17 is kind of sobering. . . keeping watch over souls and one day having to give an account to God. We talk often about how to do this and how we're doing this. Its a tough task here in the 21st Century. Pray for us!

I give thanks for these Godly men, for their living sacrifice to the Lord and His pepole here at Grace, and for the Gospel unity we share together!

Anonymous, I assume one of two reasons why the preceding comment would be acceptable. 1) There is an inside joke that neither of us is aware of. In light of Pastor Tim's comment regarding "a good time of...fellowship," I'm inclined to believe this is the case. 2) That is simply Pastor Leon's reputation.

Nevertheless, I kind of agree with you that perhaps there would have been a better way to refer to him, especially in light of the very public nature of this blog.

Either way, that's a good looking group, and I'm glad that everyone had a good time of prayer, study, and fellowship. We were praying for you.

Oh gentlemen....I think Tim saw the picture differently than you did and didn't catch his error. Do you see the white volleyball being held in front of of Tim? I am fairly certain that is the reference "to the white, bald guy" representing our missing pastoral staff members. Ever see the Tom Hanks movie where he was shipwrecked....a volleyball was his 'friend' in the movie. I think we can be sure Tim would never use the words he did to describe an elder and brother in christ.

Missy. . . . you got it. We laughed and laughed when we took this picture together and somebody held the ball up to represent our missing members. The ball was in no way meant to physically represent features of the missing members. The person who mentioned Leon was just joking, in my opinion. I was just joking!

HAHA. Well, there ya go. That certainly explains it. Wilson has a new name--actually two new names.

Glad someone clarified that for us.
