TED talks

I've recently subscribed to the TED Talks podcast in iTunes. I've been watching and listening on my iphone when I have a quick 18 minutes to spare. It's been a mind-expanding and thought-provoking experience. I love the variety of presenters and it's forcing me to engage in some areas that I've never thought about before. . . .

Here's a challenging idea from Bjorn Lomberg. . . .

What's your reaction to that?

Anybody else discovered TED?

Yep, this site is addicting! One of my favorites is Chris Jordan

There's been a lot written about Bjorn Lomberg, trying to debunk his arguments against spending on climate change. I have to agree though that the focus should be on "the least of these" and that climate change probably doesn't fit into the top 10 global priorities.

Extremely fascinating. It resonates because it is so simple and logical--it seems too good to be true. Part of me is jaded (or lazy), but the other is ready to make something happen. How exciting if malnutrition and major diseases could be wiped out in the next decade!

TED has had some great talks over the years. Here is a classic from 10 years ago (amazing considering the typical TED crowd):

Billy Graham: Technology, faith and human shortcomings

Pastor Tim,

Thanks for the info. I couldn't believe my husband had never heard of this website. He knew and has enjoyed some of the speakers. Topics are interesting. I am going to share this with the rest of my family.

I am looking forward to listening.
